Lincat appoints new marketing manager

Lincat, the UK’s leading manufacturer of commercial catering equipment, has appointed Rachel Smith as its new marketing manager. Rachel’s appointment follows the promotion of marketing director, Nick McDonald, to Managing Director.

Rachel’s appointment comes at an important time for the company, following the successful transfer of the FriFri and Q90 brands to Lincat, following the company’s acquisition in 2011 by the Middleby Corporation.

Rachel, who will be responsible for the marketing of all three of these businesses, said:

“Lincat, justifiably, has a great reputation in the industry it serves and I want to ensure that our brands are front of mind for anyone considering purchasing catering equipment, both here in the UK, as well as in emerging overseas markets.”

Rachel joins the company having spent the past 15 years in marketing management roles in the construction sector. She has been involved with many high-profile projects, including London 2012’s Olympic Park and the redevelopment of St Pancras Station, in London.

Regarding Rachel’s appointment, Managing Director Nick McDonald, said:

“This is an exciting time for Lincat as we establish ourselves as Middleby’s primary European manufacturing location. It’s a great opportunity for Rachel to bring her marketing expertise to bear on building brand awareness, supporting our dealer network and developing customer relationships.”

Based in Lincoln, Lincat produces over 450 separate products for cooking, holding and food display. The company also manufactures and markets 160 products under the FriFri and Q90 brands.  Its products are sold in the UK and in over 50 countries worldwide through a comprehensive network of distributors.
